As with her brother Randle, not very much information has been found for
Hilda's early life. She was born on the 10th July 1888, at 48
Bramford Road, Ipswich, the final child for William and Sarah Ann Pettit
(Middleditch). In the 1891 census she is aged 2, and living with her
parents at the 'Staff of Life', 50 Bramford Road. The next census in
1901 shows Hilda living with her mother in Claude Villas, Bramford Road,
following the death of her father in 1899.
Two entries have been found which may relate to the marriage of Hilda, the first being Hilda Pettit Q1 1910 Mile End 1c 565; or Hilda Pettit Q2 1911 Paddington 1a 144. The certificates will be obtained for verification.

| Hilda was the last child born to parents William and Sarah Ann Pettit (Middleditch). She came into the world on the 10th July 1888, at 48 Bramford Road, the same address as her elder brother Randle. Father William was still working as a Beerhouse Keeper at the time of the birth, which was reported by mother Sarah Ann on the 21st August 1885. The birth was registered by Charles Barrell, Registrar. |
